office rookie vs veteran part 1

There was an interim employee named Caveman who started working at a fast-paced operations plant. The office veterans, like Pita and Boono, had been there for years and knew every corner of the business. Caveman, however, was convinced that after just a few weeks, he was already on their level.

One evening, Pita was struggling to find a document for a presentation. She had been in the file system so long that she jokingly said, “I need a treasure map to find this thing.”

Caveman, standing nearby with a confident grin, jumped in. “Oh, that’s nothing. I already know exactly where it is.” He marched over to Pita’s desk, casually clicked through the folders, and in less than a minute pulled up the document.

Boono, who had been watching the whole thing, raised an eyebrow. “Impressive,” he said. “But just wait until you try finding the same file three months from now when the office’s IT guy decides to ‘upgrade’ the system… and forgets to tell anyone.”

Caveman, undeterred, puffed up his chest. “I’ve got this! I’m basically a part of the team now. The new generation of office geniuses!”

A few hours later,Pita noticed Caveman staring at the printer, looking bewildered. “Hey, Caveman, you okay?”

Caveman looked up, defeated. “The printer… it’s not… printing…”

Pita grinned. “Ah, yeah, you’ll get used to it. You know, in the veteran world, we just call that ‘printer rage.’”

Boono walked by and muttered, “First, you find the files. Then, you fight the printer.”
